Small, progressive program for underprivileged kids, drawing from Brooklyn and Queens. (now sadly closed) Elementary school: St. Agnes parochial school on DeGraw & Hoyt Sts. Little known: Big fan of Jackie Robinson’s breakthrough & story of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and that baseball itself is owed to Brooklyn teams of the 1800s like Excelsiors & Atlantics. Terrible municipal decision to allow Dodgers to ever leave; as bad as allowing our NYC shipping/carting industry to predominantly move to New Jersey.
